Dezeen Showroom: American designer Levi Christiansen journeyed into his childhood desires to generate the tables, seating and shelving in the Shapes from Residence selection, which explores otherworldly imagery by means of woodwork.
Christiansen was inspired to develop the Designs from House collection following his mom had a prospect come upon with an oracle, who brought up the vivid dreams he’d experienced as a little one.
It prompted him to revisit the imagery of those goals, in which he commonly frequented a household he’d under no circumstances observed in real lifetime. The surreal forms in the Shapes from Property selection are derived from those people dreams.
The Plural coffee desk, for illustration, characteristics rectangular panels of walnut wooden with inexperienced marble tops and legs shaped like triangular prisms, blending rounded and angled styles.
Manufactured with classic woodworking strategies, the Rhoco chair contrasts a wedge-formed backrest upholstered in wool and mohair boucle with a flat, tapered body.
The Juntos shelf has subtle divisions in its symmetry that emphasise the beauty of the cascading joinery although the Straddle facet table has a sculptural existence, with two playfully tapered legs keeping up a cantilevered major.
Last but not least, the There, There couch is nearly totally upholstered in ink-coloured leather, with a contrasting timber again and feet. All of the pieces are manufactured with reliable walnut wood.
“While Styles From Dwelling is impressed by an abstract notion, my layout philosophy is rooted in building well balanced and attractive household furniture,” explained Christiansen.
