EAST NORRITON — A guy died final 7 days after slipping from the roof of a development web site off Germantown Pike, according to the East Norriton Township Law enforcement Department.
Officers have been notified of the incident around 3:48 p.m. on July 6 at the Amazon warehouse, situated at 53 W. Germantown Pike in East Norriton, Chief Brandon Pasquale explained in a cellphone job interview with MediaNews Group.
The “fall sufferer,” discovered as Wilmer Danillo-Mejia Landaverde, of New Jersey, was a “subcontractor,” functioning as a “roofer” at the IMC Development career web site, in accordance to Pasquale. Whilst Landaverde’s specific age is unidentified, Pasquale explained he was “in his 20s.”
Pasquale explained when design workers have been “working on the roof, replacing it” there was a “segment they had cut from the roof,” and “from my being familiar with, when they were shifting it, they have been tossing items out of the way.”
Pasquale went on to say that when Landaverde went to “move out of the way, [he] stepped on [a] piece [that was] by now minimize, and he fell via.”
Pasquale reported emergency health care solutions staff arrived on the scene and tended to Landaverde, who was then flown by way of PennSTAR Helicopter to Penn Presbyterian Health care Centre in Philadelphia.
Landaverde was later pronounced lifeless, but it’s unclear if he died at the design internet site or at the healthcare facility. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Business office did not have his report in its procedure.
A spokesperson for IMC Design, dependent in Malvern, supplied a statement to MediaNews Group: “Despite substantial basic safety coaching, inspections, treatments, guidelines, safety personnel on website and mandated protection requirements, the employee was witnessed by his co-employees eradicating his mandated basic safety line from his basic safety harness though on the roof and inside minutes fell.”
When Pasquale reported the incident was “not a felony issue,” Amazon has been “cooperative with the investigation.” East Norriton law enforcement department is also performing with the Occupational Safety and Well being Administration.
Leni Fortson, an OSHA spokesperson, confirmed the company is also conducting an investigation, which she reported could take up to six months to complete.
Along with this most modern incident, IMC Design has another “open” inspection from a “complaint,” which was submitted on June 2 at a development website located in Whitehall in Lehigh County, in accordance to OSHA’s on the web inspection report.
When questioned about the situations encompassing the secondary inspection, Fortson stated that “we do not remark on open inspections.”
“No violations have been cited. It’s an ongoing issue,” she informed MediaNews Team in a mobile phone job interview.
